Are personal gifts still duty-free?

Modified on Mon, 8 Sep at 4:47 PM

Yes, but only under strict rules:

  • Must be from one individual to another individual (no commercial intent)

  • Value must be USD 100 or less

  • Only if the shipment is declared as a Gift for personal use

  • Still subject to strict U.S. Customs scrutiny and duties.

The receiver is responsible for customs duties and taxes, and the Courier company like Garudavega, has no control
